for the April 4th election are listed below in their press release. There were four (4) qualified candidates who ran for Commission Seat #1. Of the four (4), no one candidate received 50+1%, per the City Charter, therefore a run-off election is scheduled for Tuesday, May 2, 2023 for the two (2) candidates with the highest amount of votes, Kenneth Kipp and Vernel Smith, Jr.

Haines City voters will decide the outcome of the City Commission race for City Commission Seat 1 between Kenneth Kipp and Vernel Smith Jr.Voters who received a Vote-by-Mail ballot for the April 4th city election will automatically be mailed a ballot for the Run-Off Election. Other voters may request that a ballot be mailed to them by calling the Elections Office at (863) 534-5888 or by clicking on the “Vote by Mail” button at PolkElections.gov. Deadline to request a mail ballot is Saturday, April 22nd.
